      Description

The modes axis in monitor output should be dropped for at least all the physical forward solution monitors and probably the simpler monitors like temporal averaging.

The modes should be summed over, thus losing the axis, when the monitor receives the state from the simulator, before appling the forward solution. This is currently done in the projection-based monitors.

The rationale is that the modes (when there are more than one) corresponding to a partitioning of the neural mass into sub-ensembles, and the monitor output is for the entire neural mass.
