      Description

      We use The Virtual Brain platform to simulate the effects of structural
      lesions on resting-state global dynamics (or patterns of collective dynamics).
      Brain lesions map to a a range of alterations within the structure of the brain
      (stroke, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, resection after invasive surgery,
      etc.). From a modeling perspective, the distribution of the space-time
      structure given by the human connectome is modified.

      This modeling study has four goals:

      + to characterize the space-time structure of a sample of human
      connectomes, complementing current metrics derived from graph theory
      (distances/delays are taken into account).

      + to reproduce the results presented in the modeling study (Modeling the
      Impact of Lesions in the Human Brain by Jeffrey Alstott, Michael Breakspear,
      Patric Hagmann, Leila Cammoun, Olaf Sporns, 2009) using the Virtual Brain
      platform.

      + to show that this exploration can be done in a systematic way (because
      connectivity matrices are considered as one parameter of the brain network
      model).

      + to yield a (transparent) project that can be shared and improve the experience of the reviewers (have to write the article). It'll also provide a tutorial for the workshop in Hamburg next year...
